the odd couple take the apple store

so i don’t know if i mentioned this in my post about camping or not (and yes, i still have to upload the photos and videos from that trip) but trevor and i gained a nick name on that trip: the odd couple.

yesterday trevor and i went to the new apple store in west ed to purchase him and jo-ann and new iMac. first of all, the apple store is fabulous. i love it. everything is so clean and sleek highlighting the amazing contraptions that are littered throughout the place.

so anyway, trevor and jo-ann want a new iMac, and as a student i get a discount and, at the moment, a free iPod touch. so i accompanied trevor to use the student discount but then we didn’t want to arouse suspicion as to why trevor was purchasing a computer with my student discount so we came up with an ingenious ruse. the odd couple became the possibly gay couple and voila, no questions were asked about the student discount. i’m not sure that the apple guy actually believed we were a couple, but either way he was sufficiently uncomfortable not to ask any questions. he was actually a really nice guy. i felt bad being so deceitful.

jo-ann telephoned on the way home in the car and the outlander has this cool integrated phone system where the person comes over the stereo and it made it seem like kitt (from nightrider) had turned from dowdy old computer into fabulous bitch. although, that being said, jo-ann was somewhat unimpressed that we had spend nearly three-large at the apple store, but i think she’s getting over it now that she has a gorgeous new iMac to look at.
