a few notes.

it’s about music. get it? oh how i amuse myself endlessly.* i’ve been a bit unexcited by music the last few days – except, obviously for my ongoing obsession with the money note – but then today a few fantastic new things rolled into my lap and all of a sudden everything’s turned around.

the most exciting thing is a new mix (by calvin harris) of sophie ellis-bextor’s version of ‘off and on’ that is completely fantastic in a weird alternate universe, bizarro sort of way. i’m loving it and being confused by it in equal measure while dancing the whole time. it’s fantastic. i actually hope it ends up being the album mix because if this is the way the new album is going it’s going to be a stormer. also, a completely different mix would help alleviate the comparisons to roisin’s version, which in the original mix is clearly superior. forgive me sophie.

in other fantastic music news for me, the new annie single finally clicked and i’m now completely loving it. it’s called ‘i know ur girlfriend hates me’ and i have been known to describe it as ‘i kissed a girl with more synths and not crap.’ the video is below and is fantastic.

i’m also shamefully loving the new kreesha turner song ‘don’t call me baby.’ ryan and i heard it last weekend at buddy’s and i wasn’t sure who or what it was but i knew then that i loved it. for some reason it reminds me of atomic kitten. maybe it’s because i feel embarrassed to like it so much? that being said, at least i’m supporting a local girl i suppose.

finally, my friend layne pointed out today that the music video for the money note is finally online. as could be expected it is fantastic. much like the song, i didn’t love it until i’d seen it all the way through. this song fucking makes me. i can’t get enough.

*is it painfully obvious to everyone around me why i’m still single?
