i never liked the circus…

so the new britney spears video ‘circus’ has also leaked onto the internet and it’s a little meh. you may have noticed that the above picture is quite clearly not britney but some screencaps from the fabulous girls aloud video i mentioned yesterday. the britney video obviously cost a lot more money, and it’s not bad, per se, it’s more the song which is a bit shit. the verses are terrible and the chorus is ok, but not mind-blowing. the only good bit comes just before the chorus:

it’s a shame really because this whole comeback part two thing had gotten off to really good start with ‘womanizer’ and it seems to have gone completely tits up of late between the album cover, circus as a single, and a bit of a boring album (although, that being said i did enjoy ‘britney: for the record’). The album’s just a bit sloppy, there’s some killer songs on it, but a few too many crap ones. Also, ‘radar’, is on the album in exactly the same form as it was on ‘blackout’ which seems a bit odd, especially because it stands out as better than most of the rest of the album. as i mentioned earlier, i think the main problem with the new britney is that she’s more cognizant of her decisions which career-wise is a bit disastrous. i miss crazy-britney who seemed to basically leave details like compiling an album to record execs and music producers.
